50 Years of Fine Dining

Life on the road made Prof. Schickele a frequent visitor of fine dining establishments across the country.

Sometimes dining was a mystical event, and occasionally food marked special occasions, including the 200th Anniversary of the death of P.D.Q. Bach in 2007.

One of Prof. Schickele’s favorite dining establishments in the early days of P.D.Q. Bach tours was the automat restaurant Horn and Hardart...

...possibly because it so reminded him of playing the Hardart, an instrument used by P.D.Q. Bach in his Concerto for Horn and Hardart.
